Pursuant to section 21 of the Legislative Council Electoral Boundaries Act 1995, the Redistribution Tribunal now publishes its 2nd Further Redistribution Proposal. The substance of the Tribunal’s findings or conclusions concerning the Further Redistribution Proposal published on 9 January 1999, and objections received, appears on the following page. The Tribunal is of the opinion that this 2nd Further Redistribution Proposal is significantly different from the Redistribution Tribunal’s Further Redistribution Proposal published on 9 January 1999. Accordingly, any person or organisation that was entitled to make an initial objection under section 17 of the Legislative Council Electoral Boundaries Act 1995 may, within 7 days, lodge with the Redistribution Tribunal a written further objection. Subject to section 18(3) the Tribunal will hold an inquiry into a further objection. Please refer to the Notice of Inquiry on the following page.
Objections must be lodged by 5pm on Monday 1 February 1999.
